6 Gb/s eSATA Over Thunderbolt

Do you need an uncomplicated way to connect a Thunderbolt technology-enabled Mac to high speed storage using the eSATA interface? Look no further—Sonnet's new Echo Express eSATA Pro 4-Port Thunderbolt Adapter provides you a powerfully simple way to add 6 Gb/s eSATA connectivity to your iMac®, Mac® mini, MacBook® Air, or MacBook Pro computer with a Thunderbolt port.

The Echo Express SE eSATA Pro 4-Port is a Thunderbolt-to-eSATA adapter that bundles the Echo Express SE Thunderbolt expansion system for PCIe cards and the Tempo™ SATA Pro 6Gb 4-Port eSATA host controller, providing you a plug-and-play solution for adding four high-performance eSATA ports to any computer with a Thunderbolt port. This adapter enables you to connect eSATA port-equipped single- and multi-drive storage systems and take advantage of the 6 Gb/s interface’s superior throughput compared to all FireWire and USB interfaces. The Tempo SATA Pro 6Gb 4-Port card was designed for optimum performance over Thunderbolt, and the adapter's ability to support aggregate transfer speeds of up to 760 MB/s reflects its optimized design. Setup is simple—connect the Echo Express SE eSATA Pro 4-Port to the host computer via a Thunderbolt cable (sold separately) and to storage via eSATA cables (sold separately), plug in the included power supply, and then configure the attached storage using the OS X® Disk Utility application. A temperature-controlled, variable-speed fan keeps the adapter running cool and whisper-quiet. Two Thunderbolt ports support daisy chaining of up to six devices to a single port on the host computer. This Sonnet Thunderbolt adapter includes a five-year warranty.
