Sonnet provides customer friendly, easy-to-follow instructions—lower the side panel of your G4 tower or remove the lid to your Xserve G4, locate the existing processor, and following Sonnet's detailed instructions, install the new processor card. Simple!

Compatibility
Encore/MDX G4 Duet upgrades are based on the latest and fastest Freescale Semiconductor PowerPC™ G4 7447A processors, featuring 512K of SRAM on-chip L2 cache per processor. They are compatible with Mac OS® 9.2, and Mac OS X Version 10.3.5 and higher. Each upgrade includes a factory-attached heat sink and fan.
