| No, not at this time. 64-bit kernal boot is partially supported, with the following caveats 1) The Panasonic P2 driver is not 64-bit compatible, and 2) Sleep is not supported. |

| Why does my Macintosh take so long to boot when the Qio is attached?
| Apr-27-11 |
| It is normal for the Macintosh to take a long time to boot (as long as 10 minutes) the first time after a Qio is attached. All the new drivers need to be discovered and the kernal caches built. It is important to let this initialization process complete without interruption.
However, in some instances, the Mac takes a long time for subsequent boots as well. If this occurs, run the Qio System Uninstaller and rerun the Qio System Installer. This should clear the problem. |

| I upgraded to 10.6.8 and my system no longer boots. | Sep-26-11 |
| If you have Qio 1.0.5 software installed and you upgrade to 10.6.8 you will no longer be able to boot. Sonnet strongly recommends that you install Qio 1.1 software before upgrading to 10.6.8 or 10.7. If you have installed 10.6.8 prior to installing Qio 1.0.6 or 1.1 software and are not able to boot, you can recover with the following steps:
1) Boot Mac OS X from an external drive or DVD.
2) In the Finder, remove the spaces from the name of your system disk that won't boot. For example, rename Macintosh HD to MacintoshHD. (If your system disk has another name use that name in place of MacintoshHD in the next two steps.)
2) Launch Terminal and type:
sudo rm -r /Volumes/MacintoshHD/System/Library/Extensions/STPCIFamily.kext
3) Type:
sudo cp -r "/Volumes/MacintoshHD/Library/Application Support/QIO/IOPCIFamily.kext" /Volumes/MacintoshHD/System/Library/Extensions (typed all on one line)
4) Type:
sudo touch /Volumes/MacintoshHD/System/Library/Extensions
5) Restart
6) Install Qio 1.1 or greater
7) Restart |

| Why is the Panasonic Mac OS X P2 driver not compatible with 64-bit mode, while the Sony SxS driver, CF driver and SATA drivers are compatible with 64-bit mode? | Feb-28-12 |
| The Sonnet QIO reader provides standard ExpressCard/34 slots and CardBus slots, which use standard Sony SxS drivers for the ExpressCard/34 slots, and standard Panasonic P2 drivers for the CardBus slots. Under Mac OS X, Sony supports 32-bit and 64-bit mode, and Panasonic supports only 32-bit mode. The Sonnet Qio family also supports Windows Vista and 7. Under Windows, both the Sony SxS driver and Panasonic P2 driver support 32- and 64-bit modes. (Also note that although the Qio P2 read speed is only 25MB/sec under Mac OS, it is 50MB/sec under Windows in the same Qio device.) Sonnet provides drivers for the Qio itself, the Qio's standard Compact Flash slots and the SATA ports, but the ExpressCard/34 and CardBus card drivers are provided by the proprietary card manufacturers\u8212 Sony and Panasonic, respectively.
Note that Panasonic has released a Mac OS X 64-bit driver for their proprietary PCD35 P2 reader, but not for their CardBus P2 driver, which would be needed to support 64-bit mode in the industry-standard CardBus slot of the Qio. |
