Sonnet’s Fusion PCIe Flash Drive leverages the latest advancements in PCIe SSD design and Thunderbolt 2 technology to create a storage device that fits neatly in the palm of your hand, yet delivers the blazing-fast performance of a multi-drive RAID storage system many times its size. The Fusion flash drive, available with 256GB of storage capacity, is an ultra-fast alternative to common and slower USB thumb drives as well as portable SATA-based hard disk drive and SSD storage products. It connects directly to any Mac or Windows computer with a Thunderbolt 2 or Thunderbolt port, or at the end of a Thunderbolt device daisy chain, via a user-replaceable, captive 0.5-meter Thunderbolt cable.

User-Replaceable Captive Cable

Through the use of a captive cable, the Fusion PCIe Flash Drive’s Thunderbolt 2 cable remains firmly connected to it at all times. Should the need arise, you can easily swap out the cable by removing the drive’s bottom cover, unplugging the damaged cable and then plugging in a replacement.

Technical Notes

  1. Although SSD manufacturers and OS X 10.6+ define 1 gigabyte as 1,000,000,000 bytes, many other computer operating systems calculate a gigabyte by dividing the bytes by 1,073,741,824 (). This distinction may be a cause of confusion, as an SSD with a manufacturer rating of 1000GB may have its capacity reported by the operating system as 915GB.
