Description: This software includes the latest flash bundle (v2013_03_04), driver (v3.02), and ConfigTool (v4.10) application software for the Sonnet 6Gb/s SAS/SATA RAID controller card (R680) included with Fusion DX800RAID (newer models), Fusion DX800RAID Thunderbolt Edition, and Fusion RX1600RAID (part number FUS-RX16S6-xxTB) storage systems.
Release Notes:
• This flash bundle release corrects the timer frequency that controls several operations including command timeouts, fixes a problem where passthrough devices may not have been discovered, adds support for SSD RAID groups, and adds the ability to force the SAS link rate
• This driver release resolves Thunderbolt hot-plugging and sleep issues, increases the minimum device wait time when resuming from sleep from 5 to 15 seconds. When resuming from sleep, device state changes are ignored until the device wait time has elapsed.
• This Configuration Tool release adds support for SSD RAID groups, dual domain devices, and health profile data maintenance for drives that use special characters in their serial number or other vital information. This Configuration Tool release updates the ConfigTool interface to display additional drive, RAID group, and device information. This release also resolves an issue where the RAID firmware sent an un-terminated log message and caused a system crash.
Important Notes:
• You must update the firmware and driver software before updating to the latest Configuration Tool application.
• The Configuration Tool application included in this software release is a major revision to the one Sonnet has shipped in the past (v3.x). OS X support for this version is limited to 10.6 and later, and it is not Power Mac-compatible. If you are using an earlier version of OS X or using a Power Mac G5, you should continue using the previous Configuration Tool (v3.3.8).
• If you have not updated your RAID controller card's flash bundle to v2012_02_17 or later, this flash bundle release corrects a critical issue encountered with some RAID 5-formatted volumes (not RAID 6) where incorrect parity data is written to the volume. If an attached volume is formatted as RAID 5, the volume may be completely lost if only one of its drives fails. The ATTO ESAS RAID Maintenance application is included, along with detailed, step-by-step instructions, to guide you through procedures to clean up and recover affected volumes. Note that the process to update the card and scan and repair the volume will take several hours. Further support in the process is offered by ATTO, with their contact information listed in the instructions.
