|Sonnet's Allegro Pro USB 3.0 PCIe (USB3-PRO-4PM-E), Allegro USB 3.0 4-Port PCIe (USB3-4PM-E), and Tango 3.0 PCIe (FW8USB3A-E) cards support the Apple Super Drive, with the installation of the Sonnet USB 3.0 Power Kernel Extension on systems running OS X 10.9 and later.|
Sonnet's USB 2.0 PCIe cards, Allegro USB 3.0 PCIe card (USB3M-E), Tango 3.0 PCIe card (FW8USB3-E), and USB 2.0/3.0 ExpressCards are not compatible with the Apple SuperDrive.
According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5630, "MacPro (Mid-2012 and earlier) and MacBook Pro (pre-Retina) computers are not compatible with either the Apple USB SuperDrive or the MacBook Air SuperDrive."
