Sonnet engineered the Allegro Max card to provide 15W of power through its USB-C port. The port communicates to the host that 3A of VBUS current is available, enabling this Sonnet solution to support USB-C bus-powered SSDs and SSD RAID devices that need 15W during demanding write operations.
Ordinary USB-C adapter cards handle power delivered through their ports as an afterthought, requiring the user to connect a separate power connector. Allegro Max USB-C 20Gbps 1-Port PCIe Card is no ordinary adapter card. The Sonnet card draws its power completely through its slot, thus enabling full compatibility in any computer system that doesn’t have these power connectors available.
The Allegro Max card features a resettable fuse to protect the card and your computer in case there is a cable or peripheral short circuit. Should the fuse trip on the Sonnet card, you can reset it simply by shutting down the computer.
Supports file transfers from USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 storage devices at maximum speed.
Custom connector raised toward center of bracket prevents connector interference with PCIe slot separator.
Resettable device overcurrent fuse protects your computer and the card itself should a cable or peripheral short circuit.
Quick and easy installation into an available PCIe card slot, plus no driver installation required.
Plug in and disconnect peripherals without shutting off your computer.
Compatible with your Mac Pro (requires macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later), Windows, or Linux computer.
